In the face of rising food prices, climate change and growing urban populations, the Biospheric Foundation CIC is challenging current food systems and investigating some possible answers with its cutting edge research, interconnected food growing systems and locally run distribution network. All the activities take place at the inspiring venue, the Biospheric Project, in a disused mill in the centre of Salford, which has been transformed into a thriving agricultural space. Part farm, part laboratory and part research centre, all embedded in the heart of an existing community. They have launched the Biospheric Urban Activities, an exciting programme full of tours, workshops, courses and other events. Information on volunteering opportunities is available on the website.
