Bridge 5 Mill Resource Centre - Volunteer
The Bridge 5 Mill Resource Centre volunteer would be working at Bridge 5 Mill in Ancoats, which is home to MERCi and a number of other charities, campaign groups and green businesses. In addition to being Manchester's greenest building Bridge 5 Mill is also Manchester's first Centre for Change and provides a focal point for debate and action around sustainability.
A key part of the building is the resource area, which contains books, magazines, journals and other materials to promote sustainable living. The resource area is open to the tenants, visitors and the general public. We have not had the capacity to keep this area fully stocked and relevant so we need someone to update and revitalise this resource area.
This is an opportunity for someone who is focused, well organised and interested in current affairs and sustainability to help MERCi develop the resource area into an exciting and up-to-date asset.
Main Purpose
To develop the resource area into a up-to-date fully functional and relevant area.
Main Tasks
- To review all existing resources and remove those that are not relevant
- Catalog remaining resources
- Work with users to identify new resources required
- To set a loan system
The post will be based at Bridge 5 Mill in Manchester and reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
